David Barger, one of the co-founders of JetBlue Airways, assumed the role of CEO in 2007 following the resignation of David Neeleman.

As a member of JetBlue's founding team and former President and Chief Operating Officer, Barger brought a wealth of experience and insider knowledge to his new position.

Under his leadership, JetBlue implemented several revenue-generating initiatives and continued to expand its network, growing to 52 destinations with over 575 daily flights by 2015.

However, despite these achievements, Barger faced increasing pressure from investors and the board of directors who were dissatisfied with the company's lagging stock price and his overall performance.

Robin Hayes, a British-American businessman, took the helm as CEO of JetBlue Airways in February 2015.

Hayes brought a diverse background to the role, having started his career in the aviation industry as a ground staff member at British Airways before rising through the ranks to become the Executive Vice President for The Americas.

After joining JetBlue in 2008 as Chief Commercial Officer, Hayes played a pivotal role in the introduction of JetBlue Mint, a premium cabin offering on select transcontinental flights, which showcased his innovative approach to enhancing the airline's competitiveness.

During his tenure, Hayes navigated JetBlue through significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, while also overseeing major strategic initiatives such as the codeshare alliance with American Airlines in July 2020 and the pending acquisition of discount airline Spirit Airlines for $3.8 billion in July 2022.

However, after nearly a decade at the helm, Hayes announced in January 2024 that he would step down as CEO on February 12, 2024, citing health reasons and the toll that the demanding role had taken on his well-being.
