BLACK WALNUT

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2009

Vanilla ice cream with California black walnuts. The nuts tasted earthier and stronger than regular walnuts—too strong for most customers. Some loved it. Most didn’t. It was gone after four years.

VANILLA HONEY BEE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2010

Golden honey blended into vanilla ice cream. Created for the “Häagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees” campaign to raise awareness about declining bee populations. Part of the profits funded bee research.

BANANAS FOSTER

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2012

Real bananas, real rum, and swirls of brown sugar and cinnamon. The flavor was based on the New Orleans dessert. Released twice (2010, 2012) through 7-Eleven. It was a limited edition from the start. Fans still ask for it back.

BLACKBERRY CABERNET SORBET

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2013

Blackberries mixed with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Wine-inspired but no alcohol. Deep purple color, intense flavor. But it only lasted two years.

GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: Early 2010s

Chocolate ice cream with caramel, coconut, pecans, and chocolate cake pieces. The flavor was always meant to be temporary.

MACADAMIA BRITTLE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2015

Vanilla ice cream with crunchy macadamia nut brittle. The ice cream flavor was discontinued because Häagen-Dazs couldn’t source enough macadamia nuts. A rare case where ingredients killed the flavor, not sales.

CRÈME BRÛLÉE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2016

Vanilla custard ice cream with caramelized sugar swirls. When fans discovered it was gone, they flooded social media. Häagen-Dazs said they’d pass along the feedback. Nothing happened.

BROWNIES À LA MODE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: 2016

Brownie pieces and fudge swirls in vanilla ice cream. Part of the “Destination Series”—travel-inspired flavors. Another limited edition flavor that has yet to make a comeback.

BAILEYS IRISH CREAM

Häagen-Dazs / Baileys

Discontinued: 2018

Irish whiskey, cream, chocolate, and vanilla. Fans called it “a milkshake for adults.” When it vanished, social media erupted. Häagen-Dazs response: “Sometimes products aren’t as successful as we anticipate.” It’s the most mourned discontinuation in the company’s history.

PEANUT BUTTER SALTED FUDGE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: Unknown

Peanut butter ice cream with salted fudge. Retired to make room for new flavors like Black and White Cookie and Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle.

TRES LECHES BRIGADEIRO

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: Unknown

Rum-infused ice cream with dulce de leche and tres leches cake pieces. Inspired by the Brazilian chocolate truffle. Another limited edition.

BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE

Häagen-Dazs

Discontinued: Unknown

Blueberry ice cream with crumble pieces. Popular with fans. The company never said if it would return.
