Popeyes

Discontinued: 2021
Popeyes served this rice dish for over a decade. It combined garlic, celery, bell pepper, and cayenne with New Orleans meats and Cajun seasonings. When the chain removed it in February 2021, customers launched a Change.org petition that got 2,300 signatures. Popeyes brought it back for their 50th anniversary, then pulled it again. But some people say you can still get in select markets.

Discontinued: 2021
These weren't plain green beans that your grandma made you eat. Popeyes tossed these veggies in Cajun seasoning and covered them in bacon and ham gravy. The chain cut them in February 2021 alongside Cajun Rice. The company claimed they discontinued the fast food menu item due to low consumer demand, but hardcore fans say otherwise.

Discontinued: 2019
Popeyes added the Chicken Po' Boy sandwich in 2003. The chain slapped fried chicken tenders on a baguette with pickles, lettuce, and mayonnaise. It lasted sixteen years before disappearing in 2019 when the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich replaced it.

Discontinued: 2015
This bowl launched in 2008 at $3.49 (it would probably be like $17 today). It held red beans, rice, shredded cheese, and chicken in Cajun gravy. Customers could add sour cream and hot sauce. Popeyes cut it in 2015 after seven years without explaining why.

Discontinued: 2013
Popeyes introduced this chicken and waffles-inspired dish in the summer of 2013. Boneless chicken strips got coated in waffle batter, deep-fried, and served with honey maple sauce. The item ended that same summer. It returned briefly in 2014 before vanishing forever in the graveyard of broken dreams.

Discontinued: Early-to-mid 2010s
Popeyes had their own onion rings for years before removing them in the early-to-mid 2010s. The rings required slicing, battering, and frying to order. That made them labor-intensive compared to other sides. Fans started a petition in 2022 asking for their return, though some folks say you can still get them in some international locations.

Discontinued: Around 2019
This Mardi Gras inspired cheesecake sat on a graham cracker crust spiced with nutmeg and ginger. Purple, yellow, and green sprinkles topped it, mimicking King Cake. Popeyes removed the dessert around 2019. Some customers found it too sweet. Others with a sweet tooth still miss it. For now, they will have to stick with Popeyes' Mardi Gras Mustard.

Discontinued: 2021
Popeyes released this sauce on October 19, 2021, with Megan Thee Stallion. Hottie Sauce blended honey, cider vinegar, and Aleppo peppers. It sold in 14 countries and sold out at multiple locations within days. The sauce was always planned as a limited-time offering and ended in 2021.

Discontinued: Unknown
Popeyes launched Garlic Butter Shrimp in 2011 at $3.99. Imagine deep-fried popcorn shrimp tossed in garlic butter sauce. These shrimp were a milder menu option than the chain's other spicy items, for all those peeps that can't take the heat. If you miss this seafood dish, the chain still offers the Shrimp Tackle Box.

Discontinued: 2010s
This bowl held pulled chicken, Cajun gravy, red beans and rice, shredded cheese, and parsley. Popeyes removed the bowl sometime in the 2010s. Some customers questioned why a Louisiana chain would cut jambalaya, a Louisiana staple.

Discontinued: Unknown
Fried shrimp sat on a baguette with lettuce, tomato, and zesty sauce (basically spiced up mayonnaise. The sandwich fit Popeyes' Louisiana identity. The chain discontinued it anyway.

Discontinued: Unknown
This chicken dish cost just $3.99. Chicken strips came marinated and tossed in Bayou Buffalo sauce, served with blue cheese dip. It mixed Buffalo-style chicken with Louisiana flavoring. The discontinuation date couldn't be verified, but fans can't seem to find it anywhere.
