PEANUT BUTTER TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 1997 (first run), 2007 (second run)

The most iconic of all the Twix flavors. Mars Inc. launched Peanut Butter Twix in 1983, replacing caramel with peanut butter between a sugar cookie and milk chocolate. After discontinuing the Mars candy in 1997, customer demand forced its return in 2000. Mars ended the second run in 2007, replacing it with Twix PB, which swapped the sugar cookie for chocolate. But fans still mourn the original version.

COOKIES-N-CREME TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 1990

This Twix was released in 1990 with cookies and cream filling instead of caramel. The wrapper carried a dark red logo. Mars promoted it alongside Chocolate Fudge Twix with a portable radio branded for both flavors. But sadly, the flavor vanished within months because it wasn't what people expected.

CHOCOLATE FUDGE TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 1990

This Twix bar was launched with Cookies-n-Creme Twix in 1990. It replaced caramel with chocolate fudge. Like its companion, this variant disappeared fast. At the time, customers were happy with the original.

TRIPLE CHOCOLATE TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: Limited edition status (multiple runs from 1991-present)

Mars first released this bar in the UK in 1991 as a limited edition. It used chocolate cookies, chocolate caramel, and milk chocolate coating. Mars brought it back in 2003 and 2007 in the UK, 2006 in North America, and 2008 in Australia. The company still deploys it periodically, most recently in 2018. Gone again for now, this popular flavor is guaranteed to return again.

CHOC 'N' ORANGE TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 1999

Mars released this UK-only Twix in 1992 with orange-flavored caramel. The company tried again in 1999, but the second run failed. Though the chocolate-orange combination works in other candies, in Twix, the combo just didn't work too well.

TWIX 100 CALORIE

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: Unknown (sometime after initial 2000s release)

Mars introduced these 20g bars in the 2000s, selling them in boxes of seven. They matched UK Twix Tea Break bars and rode the 100-calorie snack pack trend. Like most portion-controlled snacks from that era, nobody wanted them.

DARK TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: Limited edition status (multiple runs from 2004-present)

Mars released this variant in the US in 2004. The candy bar swapped milk chocolate for dark chocolate. The company launched it in the UK in 2008 and in Continental Europe in 2009. Though it's currently discontinued, it comes back from time to time.

BISC & TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 2006 (UK)

Mars rebranded Twix Top as bisc & Twix in 2005, adding other Mars brands like M&M's and Bounty to the bisc line. UK consumers rejected it, leading to its discontinuation in 2006. Apparently, you can still find it in specialty candy stores in Europe.

MINT SLICE TWIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 2007

Mars released this Australia-exclusive Twix variant in 2006 as a limited edition. The bar combined a chocolate cookie, chocolate mint caramel, and dark chocolate coating. It differed from the UK's 2001 Mint Twix. Mars discontinued it after one year.

TWIX TOPIX

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: estimated 2008-2009

Twix Topix was a wafer bar line launched in Europe in 2007 with three flavors: Milk Cream, Macchiato, and Creamy Caramel. The wafer replaced the traditional biscuit. The product disappeared within a few years.

TWIX CAPPUCCINO

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 2007

Mars released this Poland-exclusive variant in 2007 as a limited edition with coffee flavoring. It differed from the US Twix Java that launched the next year. It was gone within the year.

TWIX JAVA

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 2010

Twix Java was released in late 2007 with an official February 2008 US launch. The variant used coffee-flavored caramel made with espresso grounds. Candy Addict gave it their "Awesomely Addictive Candy Award." Despite critical acclaim and fans who still petition for its return, Mars discontinued it in 2010, likely due to low sales. The bar became a cult favorite that never reached mass appeal.

TWIX FINO

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: Unknown (estimated 2012)

Twix Fino was launched as a wafer bar in Europe in September 2010. The company repeatedly resized the package and changed nutritional claims after launch, signs of product struggles. Mars likely discontinued it within two years.

TWIX COCONUT

Mars, Inc.

Discontinued: 2011

Mars released this coconut-flavored Twix in 2011 with limited US distribution. The bar replaced the regular cookie with coconut-flavored cookies. It couldn't last even a year.
